Once we moved in to 2018 the communication really picked up and I (bride) was in contact with Margreet daily. Nothing was too much trouble and she was always enthusiastic and positive about any new ideas. She also reminded me of so many things that I never would have thought of without her. I think that by the end she understood what I wanted more than I did!
We went out to Crete for the week before the wedding and we met with Margreet twice in the lead up. Again- she was so positive, helpful and I knew I could ask her for anything and she would sort it for me.

The days before the wedding were calm and worry-free as we knew she was doing a fantastic job! On the day of the wedding, Margreet was rushing around delivering our flowers (absolutely beautiful bouquet, the most vibrantly coloured flowers I have seen) and making sure everyone was ok before heading to the venue to set everything up. She was with us for the whole day managing everything, ordering taxis, overseeing timings etc. She really worked so hard!!

It was flawless, we and all of our guests were so happy and thoroughly impressed by the whole thing! Planning a wedding abroad seemed like such a scary thing at first but doing this with Gamos Crete was absolutely the best thing we possibly could have done. There were some big ‘unknowns’ right up until the day- what will the flowers be like? How will the cake be? But everything went far beyond our expectations.

The wedding…
We got married on Marathi beach. The wedding celebrant – Henk Bekker –  was recommended by Gamos Crete and was brilliant. Like Margreet, he spoke perfect English. He made the ceremony personal but light hearted and everybody commented on how much they enjoyed his delivery. He persuaded us to write our own vows which we were unsure about at first but I’m glad we did- he read them for us and kept it in the slightly silly style we’d wanted. He had also met with us during the week to get to know us and make sure he pitched it right for us.

We then had the reception at Loukoulos restaurant. I also can not recommend this place enough!!! They had so many staff that none of the 77 guests ever had an empty glass! You never had to wait for anything at all and they were so happy to help. The staff were friendly, fun, polite and attentive and again, everybody commented on how great they were. The food at Loukoulos was ridiculously good. There was so much of it, but every plate that came out was simply wonderful!

Many people said that they had never had such good food at a wedding and it was the best food that they have had in Greece. The DJ was really good too (he played saxophone earlier on for guests as they arrived!) and the Greek dancing made it even more of a night to remember.

Thanks to Margreet and her team, Henk, Valentino at Loukoulos and all of the staff there, we had the most perfect wedding day imaginable. We are so grateful and really would encourage anyone getting married in Crete to use this wonderful company!!
Margreet, we hope we get to meet you again one day, our happiest memories are because of you!
