Beach weddings are always so beautiful, aren’t they? There is nothing quite like exchanging vows or walking down the aisle with your toes in the sand and the soft sunshine kissing your face. Pure bliss! It goes without saying that the typical wedding decorative theme is not right for this distinctively gorgeous setting… Something special is called for. With that in mind, my team at Gamos Crete Weddings & Events and I designed and styled a unique and idyllic décor theme for this beach wedding a few days ago with coastal-inspired floral arrangements and decoration. I am “shore” you are going to love this!
The Fabulous Florals
The attitude at the beach is always a bit more laid back, so I made sure the flower arrangements reflect that. Loose arrangements always fit the scene better than anything very sculpted or precise, which is why I gave the floral arrangements a hand-tied appearance rather tight nosegays and centerpieces with some movement instead of perfectly symmetrical displays.
One of the best things about a beach wedding is that the bright, summery shades of its setting can absolutely be used to style the ceremony décor. So, I tapped into the surroundings for insight and allowed the flower arrangements to emulate a sunset over the ocean’s horizon line, complete with varying shades of pink, blue and red. The beautiful arrangement of roses, hydrangea imperium, chrysanthemums, and many different seasonal flowers tied around with local greenery added texture and an exotic touch to this romantic beach wedding.
The Alluring Arch
Instead of contrasting with the striking oceanfront-view, we at Gamos Crete complemented the ceremony backdrop with a rather simple yet awe-inspiring seaside wedding arbor that reflected the spirit of the special day.
We graced the arch with pretty florals and fresh tropical foliage to anchor the ceremony. The pop of colors against the turquoise ocean and the sand looked absolutely marvelous and lent the ceremony an intimate and cozy feel. We also draped the arch in sheer linens to make the ceremony breezy-cabana-by-the-sea. The billowing fabric brought some movement to the ceremony setup and mimicked the motion of the rolling waves. How’s that for beach romance?
The Tempting Table Setting
I know that wedding table decorations can make or break your entire wedding theme, which is why I had to make sure the table setting at this beach wedding stood out, while also blending with the rest of décor. So, we tried not go overboard with the Oceanside-inspired decorative elements and kept things simple and natural.
No starfishes and seashells – we used olive garlands (Remember in 2017 when Pantone chose “greenery” as the trend color of the year? I do!) and flowers in golden bottles to bring a breezy, organic texture to the table décor.
